Purpose of the School

The purpose of the Michigan School of Holistic Health is to train individuals in the use of the most advanced techniques for inducing hypnosis and to use hypnotic skills effectively for self-improvement or for workers in the helping professions. The basic course is designed to establish a foundation for the professional hypnotherapist, to assist in the medical field, to learn self-hypnosis or practice as a skilled hypnotherapist. The advanced course is designed to train professionals in the medical, psychological, sociological, pastoral, educational and other health-related professions to become clinical hypnotists and hypnotherapists.

Methods Will Include:

Demonstrations of hypnotic inductions and techniques which induce amnesia, anesthesia, age regression, catatonic states, hallucination, sensory imagery, temperature change, time distortion and varied uses of counseling techniques.

Trance induction formulas, which include progressive relaxation, as well as speed hypnosis using rapid applications of hypnotic techniques.

During the Clinical Hypnosis training, students will learn word by word inductions and effectively worded suggestions for weight loss, stop smoking, stress management, phobia extinction and elimination of insomnia and other medical and behavioral health challenges. Students will learn use of more advanced techniques. They will apply these techniques in supervised clinical sessions.

All equipment, books, tapes (video and audio), etc. will be available at the school.

Hypnosis

AKey to the Subconscious Mind

The subconscious mind is a powerful source of creative insight, intuition and inspiration.

Like a computer, the subconscious mind is “programmed” by the thoughts of our conscious mind. Once information has been put into the “computer” it stays, producing thoughts and behaviors in kind.

Hypnosis is an effective way to bypass the conscious mind and reach directly into the subconscious. Through the use of relaxation and suggestions, the hypnotherapist can tap that storehouse for insightful information, or provide helpful suggestions that can help an individual change behavior, attitudes and self-defeating thoughts.

The recent resurgence of hypnosis for clinical use has demonstrated the many practical and positive uses of hypnosis. Among other things, hypnosis is used effectively for improving memory, stress control, smoking cessation, weight control, development of positive self-image, relaxation, visualization, regression, changing habits, developing creativity, managing fear, anxiety, pain control, childbirth, problem solving, frigidity and impotence, effective speaking, overcoming phobias, substance abuse and addictions.

Hypnosis is used clinically today for many purposes. It is a complement to psychiatry, psychotherapy, surgery, dentistry, an adjunct to general medical practice and an important part of holistic health practices. Uses are endless, determined by individual needs.
